Open Grass Volleyball Tournament
June 9, 2018 • Milwaukee Summerfest Grounds
(Milwaukee, WI) — The 2018 PrideFest Milwaukee Open Grass Volleyball Tournament will take place Saturday, June 9, at the Milwaukee Summerfest grounds. Tournament play takes place on the lawns directly adjacent to the PrideFest festival grounds at Henry Maier Festival Park (200 N. Harbor Dr.). The vista cast by the Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery World Museum provides a remarkable backdrop to a day of spirited and enjoyable competition, which takes place during the world’s largest LGBT festival held on permanent festival grounds.
The tournament is open to the public with two divisions, Recreational and Competitive. The registration fee is $250 per team of six players. Up to two additional players can be added to a team for $40 per player. The registration fee includes tournament fees, a weekend (Friday through Sunday) pass to PrideFest Milwaukee, a welcome bag of goodies, tournament T-shirt, a kickoff event on Friday evening and trophies for the winning teams. Players and fans are encouraged to come out and play against (or just watch) some of the most talented players from leagues throughout the Midwest and beyond.
Celebrating its 27th year, PrideFest Milwaukee features more than 100 national, regional and local performers on eight stages throughout the festival grounds. Past headliners have included Cyndi Lauper, Kathy Griffin, Pat Benatar, Chaka Kahn, Wanda Sykes, Patti LaBelle, Joan Rivers, Lisa Lampanelli, Indigo Girls, Margaret Cho, Joan Jett, En Vogue, Taylor Dane, and RuPaul. Headliners for 2017 included Betty Who, 10,000 Maniacs and Steve Grand.
The PrideFest Open Grass Volleyball Tournament is coordinated by the Milwaukee Gay Volleyball Association in association with PrideFest Milwaukee.
