Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your Fourth of July holiday and break last weekend! Here is the schedule for this weekend!
* * * PLEASE NOTE * * * — We will be revising the full schedule we posted prior to the break to accommodate a special and extraordinary request from a particular team. We will do our best at keeping time and team shifts to a minimum — the changes should not be too disruptive from what we had planned. The 2.0 schedule will be released next week and posted at Beluah Brinton and on the Schedule tab here. As always, the Weekly Email will have the correct slate of games each week. We apologize for any inconvenience in advance and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding through the adjustments.
YELLOW CARD OPPORTUNITY
As a reminder, in addition to Sunday league play, MGVA also holds Open Play on Wednesday and Friday evenings each week at the sand courts at Beulah Brinton. We are already attracting enough individuals to keep games going on two courts each night, but we can accommodate more — so please join us!
Want to get your MGVA Yellow Card filled up extra fast? Starting tonight (Friday, July 11), we will be punching Yellow Cards at each Open Play session! We’ll continue to do this through the end of July, so that’s six potential punches if you show up every Wednesday and Fridayin July!
Although we don’t have an “official” sponsor bar this weekend, we have had our eye on the neighborhood bar closest to the sand courts for awhile now. A summer’s day seems to be the perfect time to explore new terrain, so join us as we satisfy our curiosity and visit Franky’s Newport Lounge, just steps up the street to the west (939 E. Conway St.). Whether you have a thirst to try a new place with friends or just a thirst for your favorite beverage, The Newport will fit the bill.
Although this visit is informal and impromptu, we will still give out punches on your MGVA Yellow Card, so make sure you have it along!
Our 2014 Summer Season starts this Sunday, June 15!
If you are a registered player but have not seen the schedule for Sunday yet, please check the “in” box of the email address you used to register. You should have received the Weekly Email now. If you don’t find it, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org — and we’ll forward the details to you!
YELLOW CARD OPPORTUNITY
This year our Red Card for participants is turning yellow! Make sure you get yours at the courts on Sunday — and use it right away at our first volleybar event. Details are below! For new members, the MGVA Yellow Card is a punch card that will give you extra rewards for participating in our special events and promotions!
This Sunday, June 15, after league play, please join us for our first Volleybar of the summer! Come mix and mingle on the patio at Kruz, 354 E. National Ave. Re-connect with old friends, meet our new players and earn your first punch for the season!
